If you take BCPs do you get your blood pressure checked every 6 months?
I've always had low BP even through all my pregnancies. I also never had to check my BP every 6 months beofre with these pills until I changed doctors. I have to pay $30 (copayment) out of pocket everytime I have to do this. Is this really necessary? Do you get your BP checked because of BCPs?

Well, I don't go just to get it checked. But I go every 6 months for a check up and they check then.

When I was on BCP my doctor only gave the Rx for 6 months so I had to come in to have BP checked 2x a year.

When I was on BCP my doctor only gave the Rx for 6 months so I had to come in to have BP checked 2x a year.
this was the way with my old dr. my new dr gave me a script for practically the whole year.

When I lived on LI, I had to go every six months for a check up.
Since I have moved off LI, they only make me go once a year.
Who knows?

I had the lowest BP ever in my pregnancy with DD. I get my BP checked every month because of a family history of BP issues, i have a log book i keep track in and haven't had a problem. The only time i had high blood pressure was when i had a UTI and when i contracted the staph infection after having DD. I have been on BCP for 9 years now.

With my first gyn I used to go every 6mths for b/p checks. I would see the doc annually and the nurse at the 6mth check. I would get a 6mth script with both visits but I didn't get charged a copay when I saw the nurse for the b/p check.
