If you watch Boston Legal...
DH and I watch Boston Legal religiously (on DVR). It is one of our favorite shows. However, I noticed that not one person, either lawyer or client, has a HINT of a Boston accent. I found that strange since most television shows based in NY have characters with distinct NY accents. Why this annoys me, I don't know. I'll watch regardless.

They should have a story line involving Yankee and Red Sox fans and watch the accents come out then.
It also bothered me that half the people in the original Willy Wonka movie had American accents and the other half had British accents. I am not talking about the children and their families, more like the people who worked in the town like the candy man, the teacher, the tinker dude who talked to Charilie outside the factory etc.
(I know I need to get out more)

That may very well be but they serve the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, yet none of their clients speak with an accent.

Is there anyone else who thinks Allen Shore is dreamy???... So not good looking but Damn!!!!! My mom and I LOVE him. He oozes sex appeal!!LOL

I agree. I see him now and I see STEFF from Pretty In Pink all grown up and Democrat. YUM.
 
ETA: James Spader grew up in Massachusetts. Go figure.

I used to work with some people from MA (Framingham) and none of them had the Boston accent. it's probably the same logic as a NY/LI accent. some ppl have it, others don't.
