I love the light show in the Time Warner Center, the tree in Rockerfeller Center, Ice Skating in Wollman Rink in Central Park. If kids are involved, I would take the to the Botanical Gardens train show. If they are into opera, I would catch a show at the met or a broadway play. I would also check out the windows at Bloomies, Barneys, Lord and Taylor and/or Bendles.

Restaurants- that's tough. If youare doing the touristy thing, Serendipity III. But I prefer smaller places. Just wander around the village and pop into a cafe.

Also the museums. The Met and/or Moma. I love the Asian culture museum uptown. There is also the Whitney which has some nice exhibits.

One thing you must NOT do is stand on the sidewalk and gawk at stuff when people are trying to get to work! Chat Icon And I say that in the nicest way possible.

Must sees are def. Rock Center, Radio City, maybe FAO Schwartz.

Max Brenner's in the village. If there are kids involved, Ellen's Stardust Diner. (Can be a bit noisy at times but kids love it).

If I had a whole week, I'd take a day to go to the Bronx & go to the Botanical Garden train show in the day, followed by the Bronx zoo to see the lights, at night. There are several good restaurants on Arthur Avenue, but it is a little bit of a walk.

I would also got the Metropolitan Museum of Art, especially if you celebrate or are interested in the religious/traditional aspects of Christmas--or you just like really extravagant art.
