The biggest travel days of the entire year is the day before, the day of and the day after Thanksgiving.
For domestic I would do at least 2 hours prior to scheduled departure time. You could be lucky and have a very little wait time, but you could also run into the stupid person who has a wedding cake knife in their carry on and is crying how she has to take the 10 inch blade on the plane and holds up the entire line.

Hubby had to deal with that a few weeks ago when he was working the check point. I feel bad for him this week he'll have some real winners
