If you were going to rent a car
Would you go with Avis, Hertz, or are they equally good? Is there another company you would use instead?

All equally good but I happen to like thrifty. I get good deals from them. also check online for coupon codes.

I always use enterprise
they are close to my house- pick you up and drop you back off - and I can always talk them into an upgrade

I go with Hertz or the lowest. Hertz almost always comes out cheaper.

I just looked it up and Avis is by the airport, so we can just drop it off on our way and we don't have to pay for a cab then. I guess that is worth a little extra money.

I always go with Budget or Dollar and have never had any problems - and they had the best prices.

DH uses Enterprise and Thrift a lot, even thought he's a Hertz Gold Member.
I used Enterprise 2 months ago and they hooked me up with a Volvo AWD at no extra cost.

Just be careful w/ p/u and drop off at/near the airport......sometimes they charge you an xtra fee....as high as 50 bucks..........

We seem to always use Hertz.
always get upgraded everytime we use them....Last week we used them and got a Brand New Grand Marquis.
with the GPS.
That was kind of cool!

I always use Enterprise as well, for the same reasons- having the option of them picking you up can be sooooo useful! Oh, and this last time when I went to Enterprise I mentioned I saw a cheaper rate for the same size car on a competitor's website (I think it was Hertz?) and they matched that price.

id go with hertz my friends SO works there and used to work for avis.. he said that hertz has newest cars on avg.

Also, you can check the prices on Hotwire.com for rental cars. I almost always get my rate through Hotwire. It is usually a lot cheaper, including cheaper than coupon rates. G/L!

I usually go with Hertz as that is what I have to use on business trips so I am used to them. I've never had a problem.

I don't have a favorite company. I go with whoever has the deal!
I just got back from Florida. I used Priceline named my own price. I got a compact for 15.00 a day. When I got there they had no compacts left so I took a midsize. Not bad for 15.00 a day. It was with National. No complaints!
