If you were involved or planned your parents 40th wedding anniversary party...
How did you make it special for them? April is the month of my parents 40th and I'm involved in the planning process. I'd like to be as helpful as possible - however - I'm still a little tired from planning that wedding ... lol....
Hmmm...some questions for you guys that threw your parents a party:
Where did you have it? Did you have favors? What kind of gift did you give your parents in addition to the party? Did you have music or a sit-down dinner? How did you make it unique?
thanks for your input & ideas..I'll definitely need them.

My parents' 40th is in September, so I'm not planning yet, just thinking about it.
We had our RD at the Wantagh Inn, in one of the upstairs rooms, and since we were pleased I am thinking about having something there. My parents won't want something overly large, just friends and family.
Also, budget is an issue. I'm way early but I need to get my brothers on board, as least as far as the $$ goes.
As for making it special, I want to do a slide show of pictures and music. They've been together since they were 17 and 19 so I think it could be quite fun to watch! I just haven't yet figured out the logistics. The DJ who did my wedding did a slide show for us, and everyone kept telling us how much they loved it.

I helped plan my IL's 40th. We had it at City Cafe. It was a sit down dinner for 65 people. We had a DJ. We gave out personalized bottles of wine

We had a 50th Birthday party for my parents. We had a huge Sunday Brunch at Captain's Bill's in Bayshore. We had two types of favors. We had a bag filled with green fill and golf tees and balls that said something to the fact of Bill's 50th and we also had china tea cups filled with candy for the women with a ribbon that said something lke Mary's 50th.
