Re: If you were not getting/debating the swine flu shot for DC, have you changed your mind?
I am still on the fence but since so many people are not able to get it ~ the decision may be out of my hands! I will see in a couple of weeks when I take DS to his ped's office. I know my doctor is waiting to receive his shipment. (& then if he does get some who knows how many he will receive)

Re: If you were not getting/debating the swine flu shot for DC, have you changed your mind?
Yes - as the number or young people succumb to the flu I'm becoming more worried. The DR. said it's not just kids with underlying medical conditions anymore.
Additionally - I have a 6 week old who just got over RSV. He was SOOOO sick. They almost admitted him to the hospital. If RSV could make him so sick - what would the flu do? I shared my concern with the ped. and he said that RSV was a "walk in the park" compared to what the flu would do.
That sealed the deal for me!

I got it for DD, both shots.
My reasoning was let me give her whatever protection I can. I trust my ped and I know that he would never give her something that would do her any harm.
She got the nasal spray and had 0 side effects from it. She goes back in a few weeks for the booster.
She was also premature and I feel like she may be more at risk, although my ped never said nor implied it.

Haven't changed our minds...we are not flu shot - swine or otherwise - people.

I was "bullied" by my ped into getting the regular flu shot for DS, but I will not be swayed into getting the swine flu shot for DS (or anyone else in my family) by any shot

I am so torn, I didnt want to give dd h1n1 and my ped agreed...now she tells me she has seen many many very sick kids and recommends we get it. I dont know who to trust or even HOW to make an informed decision when all the info I read, see, hear is different.
ITA I wish there was an easy answer. Every doctor has a different opinion. why the worry? There must be a reason as to why the medical professionals are not all on the same page. UGH!
