Did they fit into regular width as they got older? At about what age were you able to buy regular width shoes?
I have to get winter boots and I just know they will be $$$ because we need an XW. And he'll wear them 3 times.

DS wears an XW... but has been able to rip his shoes off very easily lately, so I want to have him re-sized. I am thinking he's not an XW anymore. I have heard that sometimes their feet do slim down.

DD was XW until she was about 1 1/2 years old and then went to regulars.

DD was an XW and still fits into XW at 3 years old, but can also fit into a regular wide. I don't want to buy snow boots for the same reason!!

DD#1 wore an XW for few years and somewhere around 4 she was able to wear regular shoes. She is still fairly wide and can not wear everything she would like. She is 8
