if your child sees a therapist
Why do they think they're going? DS is going to start seeing a behavioralist and I basicallly told him the truth- that she's going to help him be a good boy more of the time and that she's going to try to help him not have the tantrums and use his mean words. Did I do the right thing by being honest? I really didn't know what else to tell him. He seems pleased enough with my answer and he's super excited to meet her since I told him she has lots of toys in her office. It's so hard to know if you're doing the right thing sometimes.

I think its fine what you said. He is old enough to know he is doing the wrong thing. So why lie?

I don't have personal experience with this, but I've always been a big fan of honesty with kids. I have this big hang up about respecting kids enough to be honest with them. They deserve to know the truth (within reason of course). I think you absolutely did the right thing.
