If your DC has PDD-NOS and in CPSE

Do you get any services at home?

I am just wondering if anyone receives services in addition to center based programs with this diagnosis. I know the districts prefer not to give anything at home, but I have heard that some people do get ABA or parent training in addition to what is given at school.

TIA!

The only thing we get at home is Family Training once a month.
Everything else takes place at school.
My DS goes M-F from 9AM-3PM.

DD never received services at home. I think it really depends on the district you're in.
All services she received, including SEIT, OT, PT, speech, ABA and our parent training were held in school.

Thanks for adding this. Based on the feedback I am getting (here and IRL) it seems like if the diagnosis is Autism, home services are more likely to be offered or provided than with a PDD-NOS diagnosis.

thanks everyone for the feedback Chat Icon

DS has Autism and is 6. It was a fight but he receives 10 hours a week after school. It is possible to get but alot of districts try to avoid it, if you feel your child needs it I'd fight it. GL

DS is autistic too.

Preschool FT where he receives individual sessions for speech OT and PT.

He receives 5 x 2 hours SEIT per week at home in addition to school. This is year round even when school if closed for vacations (Except Holidays of course!). And we also get 1 family training at home of 1 hour per week.

My son has Autism as well. Now that he is in a different school, with longer hours, he still gets 5 hours of SEIT hours at home.
