who buys them the gifts? or who thinks of buying them the gifts? like when you go visit them, do YOU buy the gifts? or does your DH since they are his blood relatives

I'm the one with the neices/nephews, but I can tell you that I'm the one who thinks of ALL gift giving- no matter whose blood relative it is.

We each have a neice, but its always me that remembers to get gifts for his niece - and since I remember I usually end up paying for it, unless we are shopping together

DH has alot of nieces and nephews and we both shop for them. They called me Aunty Opal and I accept them as my nieces and nephews so I always buys stuff for them. I shop for them whenever I shop for my little borther.

we usually buy it together. Sometimes I do the research and will show him online to get the ok.

I did all the buying of everything! Now I have a niece but...always was my part to do.

Just the thing he expects me to do and thank gosh I do,...those kids are spoiled due to me

It can go either way. I don't have any neices or nephews on my side. We usually ask BIL, SIL or MIL what our neice likes and decide from there.

Usually I am the one who remembers to buy the gifts, picks out the gifts and actually buys the gifts - especially for our niece. DH will sometimes pick out gifts for our nephews.

We LOVE this little boy and we always wanna buy him stuff and I always send him cards and stuff in the mail

My husband has 3 nieces and a nephew and I always shop for them...he has no clue what they have or what they'd like so its my job to investigate...I don't mind though.

well I do always for his neice but sometimes for his nephew I'll ask his advice b/c I am clueless on little boys likes and dislikes

DH and I always do the shopping together.
He has 8 nephews and 1 niece and I have none.

See I never think of BIL's daughter as JUST DH's niece. I think of her as MY niece too... afterall, she does call me AUNT Lauren ... so as far as gifts go, I will come up with the idea usually and buy it... but that's what happens with anyone... DH pretty much leaves gift buying up to me, no matter who it is...

I pretty much do the gift buying for both sides of the family, unless DH has something particular in mind that he wants to get for someone in his family.

I inherited 5 nieces and nephews that I LOVE! They even call me titi.

We plan and buy their gifts together.

I am the one who buys all of the gifts for his family. If I left it up to him, they would get squat!
I even have to remind him when his own parents birthdays are!!!

Always seems like a "woman's job" to buy kiddie gifts. Most men won't do it on their own.

But, since we got married, my SIL has had her daughters calling me Aunt Sandra anyway, so I consider them my nieces too.
