If your DS was constantly bored, would you sent them to nursery school full-time?
I try to keep DS as busy as possible. We have school 3 x's a week from 9-11:30, he has speech and ot in the afternoons 4 days a week and soccer on Saturdays. On the mornings DS doesnt have school he seems just bored. He whines constantly. He for some reason is not into playing with his toys anymore, except his cars and trucks I try to keep him out of the house, even if it is shopping or playdates but honestly dragging two kids around with me is just exhausting. Some days its nice just to stay home.
I know once January comes around sign up starts for school. I am wondering if I should send him 4 or 5 half days next year or just 5 full days from 8:30-2:30??? He will be 4 1/2 next September. He LOVES school and I think he thrives on the routine of it. I just am worried it might be too much, too soon.

Yes, I'd totally do it. I don't think it would be too much for him. Plenty of kids go to daycare for longer hours. I think it will be good for him.
I'm in a similar boat except DS winds up watching WAY too much TV as a result

My DS started going 5 half days at 3 years old and he loves it.
How would speech and OT work if he was at school full day? For us I would prefer if they went to the school and pulled him out for therapy. If my DS was doing it after going to school full day he'd have a meltdown.

DS goes to school from 9-3 and loves it! He gets pulled out for his services. No more in home services (he aged out of EI). Makes it so much easier.

Absolutely 100% yes!
I'm going to start DS in a 2's program next year and if he likes it, I plan to enroll him full time (9-3).
DS tends to get restless when we are home and he starts whining for the tv.

YES!!! LOL!! I'm sending Maddie 5x. They wouldn't let her do it this time because they want them to start 3x a week.

I send DD to pre-school to give her some socialization and time to learn outside of the house. I think it is great for her to have time to be a part of a "class" instead of things being all about her at home.

If I had the money I would have sent DD all day, every day last year. She loved school and always wanted to be there. She is in full day K this year and loves it.

Re: If your DS was constantly bored, would you sent them to nursery school full-time?
I am having this issue with AJ and I think its more so because in his foster moms house there was another little boy.
He doesnt play with his toys much, he follows me aroud or wander. He seems so bored. So we are going to put him in Daycare as soon as we get another car. I feel so bad for him.
so my answer is yes I would.

yep. my DD goes to daycare everyday for this reason even though i am currently off work. she needs the interaction with other kids her age and she thrives off of the routine of going everyday.

Yes I would. That is why DS is in pre-school 5 days a week from 8:15 - 2:15. He even asked if he can go to After Care.

Its not too much, he'll love it. I sent my older daughter for full days (9-3) when she was 4, and I'll be doing the same for my younger one.
