If your kid doesn’t play with toys….
My 7 year old rarely plays with toys. Ever. If your child doesn’t play with toys, what do you get them for Christmas? My son would literally play the switch - specifically Fortnite - if we had no time limits. I know he will want/get “V-bucks” but it will be a depressing Christmas - FOR ME - if that’s the only thing. Lol
He has lots of other big items already. He has an old ipad. He had a basketball hoop, huge soccer net, bike, bounce house, etc. he would love a trampoline but we’re not comfortable with having one. Plus his best friend around the block has one so he’s on that thing every day.
He does like foosball so I am looking into getting that. I also want to get him a nice LLBean snow tube (we live where there is snow from Nov-March). I was thinking maybe ski lessons?!?

I like to get gift cards for experiences like Urban Air/Bounce. I also get tickets to things - this year we are going to see Wicked and I am taking them to American Dream Water Park.
I think ski lessons are a great idea and you can get a nice pair of gloves, snow pants, ski jacket, goggles, helmet, etc.
Also maybe something for his room like those LED lights?

Good ideas. He’ll need all the snow gear before Christmas since first big snowfall can come anytime between Nov-Jan and you don’t want to be unprepared. I’ve been in that situation before

Ugh my kids are video game junkies too. Makes me nuts.
I am getting them an inflatable water slide for the pool.
Does he like Pokemon? My kids like doing those cards. I have also bought them magic sets, legos, chemistry sets and hover boards.

Re: If your kid doesn’t play with toys….
My son is 8 and a video game junkie too, he also rarely plays with actual toys anymore. Last year we got him a knock hockey set on Amazon, he really enjoyed that plus it was something we could play as a family. He loves exploring outside and hiking so we also got him a metal detector, he has fun going on "treasure hunts".
This summer my kids got into "Mexican Train" dominoes, they sell inexpensive sets on Amazon. It's super easy to learn and a lot of fun, it's one of the few games he'll put his iPad down for. Great family fun too!
The only other "toy" he'll play with is fort building sets. He builds them in his room and then hangs out in there and plays his iPad.

What about experience gifts? Membership to an amusement park, museum, zoo, aquarium, etc? Tickets to a sporting event or some type of show? Ice skating lessons?

We usually get sporting equipment, jerseys, a big item like a ping pong table, etc...
This year my younger son only wants a gaming chair and a PS5... Of course the most difficult thing to get...
