If you're contemplating having a third child in late October or anytime through the winter...
PLEASE rethink it!
You're going for #1? That's OK. There's a good chance you can keep him/her in a little cocoon for several months.
#2, you say? Also OK. Chances are #1's not in school yet.
But #3? Nooooooo!!!! You'll probably have one, if not both, in school surrounded by horrible, disgusting GERMS!
My little one--at under a month still--has had (1) horrible cold (1) stomach virus and (2) sisters with chronic, hacking coughs currently... Poor little thing.
It's only November, but make it STOP!

I hear ya!! I always say I wished Ryan and Colin's bday were reversed. Ryan is spring - great for any baby, not necessary for a 1st. Colin is Oct. 30 - he was hospitalized for a fever at 7 wks (nothing more than a fever was ever found, but it was still a PITA 3 days before Christmas!)

Ugh! I totally agree! If I can help it I will NOT have a baby between October-April.
Tyler was born Oct 15th and the germs were everywhere. I was a lunatic worrying about him getting sick all the time. Poor Jack was wiped down from head to toe with Wet Ones everytime he walked into the house.

Poor babies, I hope they feel better soon.
This was the only reasoning for having babies close in age that I was buying. Our poor nephew is always sick from the germs his big sis brings home. They are 5y apart, which I said I was aiming for, but being told stories like yours makes me rethink.

My second was born in October and I remember saying that if I had another baby, I would never do it in the fall and would want a spring or summer baby. Well, #3 wanted to be born in November! I'm hoping he doesn't catch any nasty germs!

Just curious ...I understand the germs in the winter, but isn't it harder in the summer being suck inside with a newborn and toddler??

I agree! When DD#2 was born (October) she was in the hospital at 6 weeks with bronchilotis. DD#3 is a July baby and its so much easier! She's 4 1/2 months as we head into winter and not as fragile.
