if you're going to talk on an early morning LIRR train
could you at least have the decency to sit next to each other and not shout to each other across 2 or 3 rows?!
This went on for the ENTIRE train ride. I'm convinced one of these people is not entirely human either because she didn't take ONE BREATH the entire time.

I hate when people do that - even in the afternoon! The people who do it tend to have the most annoying voices ever!

And the worst NY accents. Yes, I say that as a born and raised NYer.
The letter "R" is in the english alphabet for a reason -- USE IT.

Re: if you're going to talk on an early morning LIRR train
There are a lot of tourists (meaning folks who don't commute) on the trains lately.
The other day a bunch of teenage girls were on the train and they were jabbering non-stop, singing, talking on the phone..etc. Of course I said something..no one else did because I don't know...they are in a coma?
The same ride had two adults and a child (not commuters) talking to each other across rows and people..handing bags to each other in front of other passengers, hitting them in the face and chest with them. The adult was playing a PS2 (is that the right gadget) with no ear phones..that was pleasant.

Re: if you're going to talk on an early morning LIRR train
This all happens on the express buses as well.
Never fails that there is always some annoying wench talking the ENTIRE ride.
There is this one woman who just talks...I don't think she knows how to shut the h ell up.
She is always jabbering away AT the bus stop to whom ever.
Than when she gets on the bus, she gets on last so she can stop and chat with everyone as she is finding a seat. I swear she will be standing for a good 10-15 mins before she makes it to her seat.
When she finally decides where she will sit, she puts her items down & walks back to continue standing and talking.
She will do this the ENTIRE way home...I have to resist the urge to stick my leg out when she walks by my seat

Re: if you're going to talk on an early morning LIRR train
I sometimes feel that folks who are not regular commuters think the train, bus, subway are school buses and they are on a field trip with their class. They also think they are at a bar at happy hour or in their own cars.
Don't get me started about the IPOD/MP3 players. Why even have ear buds if I can hear your music loud and clear.
I especially enjoyed the instrumental version of Yellow Submarine on the way in yesterday. The best Musak you can download.

I HATE when people have their music up so loud I can hear it 5 seats up from you. ALTHOUGH, I am guilty of blasting mine from time to time...to drown out the annoying constant talking

I have an IPOD and I have good ear buds that I bought separately that have a good ear seal. The white ones that come with the IPODs are crap. They don't seal to the ear. Blast your music but do a test at certain volumes to hear whether or not you have the sound bleeding out. Most folks are clueless.
Yellow Submarine is a great song. I especially liked hearing the alto sax bleed through his ear buds.
I don't want to have to put on music to drown out others. It's a 50 minute train ride. Stifle for 50 minutes..would it kill anyone?

Re: if you're going to talk on an early morning LIRR train
My husband recently told me about how annoying it is when the "tourists" come on the train and start talking away. It's funny because he comes from another country and he's only been riding the train for a couple of months , but he still was able to pick up the "rule"...
