If you're sending an email to 2 people with the same first name..
How do you address the email?
John & John?
John (squared)?
Seriously..lol what's the proper way to do it?

Re: If you're sending an email to 2 people with the same first name..
I would probably say "Hey Guys!" unless it was a formal email then I would say "John and John:"

Re: If you're sending an email to 2 people with the same first name..
I would say "Hi Johns"
But then you sound like a hooker.
So I would go with John and John.

Not really. They are two separate people.
It's "John and John,"

Re: If you're sending an email to 2 people with the same first name..
What if you just put "John". They are both named John and as long as you put them both in the "TO" field, it's still to both of them.

To me it sounds less weird than making a proper name plural.

I don't greet people in emails. They're listed in the To: field so that's enough.

I does sound weird, but I think t is correct. I also feel werid if I am writing someone with the same name as me,
Dear Heather, Sincerely, Heather
Sounds like I am talking to myself!
In casual correspondance though, I do sometimes write Hi Annes! to my 2 friends named Anne.

I want to be greeted from now on.
To the OP, I would've done exactly what you did

I did it in a joking manner..lol I wasn't honestly referring to one of them in the plural..
