if you're shopping for a home right now...what kind of rates are you getting quoted?

i got quoted 4.875% with 5% down no points on a 30 year fixed. is this decent these days?

I put zero down, got a 5.5%, bought down to a 5%.

i heard BFCU rates were 5% yesterday but went down to 4.8% today

where did you get your quote? and was it today?

i would say that is a great rate with no points! and with 5% down Chat Icon

chase is 4.375 but with 3 points. putting 20% down. I am seeing a lot of 4.8 to 5.1

yea it was today. yesterday when i spoke to them they were quoting me 5% but today i got my mortgage approval and its at 4.875%. that was with rochester home equity bank. i saw their ad in newsday.

At the top of their homepage http://teachersfcu.org/ is a link for "Become a member". In there is a list of criteria for becoming a member. If you live in certain towns, work/volunteer for certain companies, have family members already in there, etc.

We're going with TFCU, and the rates are between 4.75-4.85. It is based though on your credit score; lower scores get higher rates.
