If you've been to Hawaii...
...how did you get there? Meaning, I know obviously a plane but what route? TIA

On the way to Hawaii, we flew from NY to Chicago and then Chicago to Maui. Coming home, we flew from Kauai to San Francisco and then San Francisco to NY.

We flew in to san fran for 2nights. On the way back we stopped in Vegas for 2 nights SO GLAD WE DID TOO

NY to Texas to Honolulu to Kauai (stayed there for a week) interisland flight to Maui (stayed there for a week) then Maui to Honolulu to Texas to NY. American airlines - first class. But I would not use them again b/c we specifically requested kosher meals and got a choice of shrimp or pork for our meal from Texas to NY. We were not pleased.

On the way there we went to Chicago and straight to Maui. On the way back we went from Kuai to LA to Ny. I definitely recommend stopping CA. From Chicago to Maui it was almost 10 hours, versus 5 and 6 hours the other way.

We are leaving for Hawaii In late January.
We are flying from Newark to San Fran, then San Fran directly to Kona (on the Big Island). We fly home the same way.
