if you've ever had a tree taken down...
what kind of prices did you get?
we have just one tree that needs to be removed and we got a quote today that seems kind of high to me. but the tree is in an awkward spot so i'm wondering if it's reasonable for that reason.
can anyone recommend someone that i can call for a 2nd quote?

Not sure where you are but we've used North Country Tree more than once for treatments, pruning, and removal.
I'd recommend asking for Kevin to come out and provide an estimate. It's free.
We thought we might have to take down a huge oak tree and he said that the location absolutely makes a big difference. If they can get to it with heavy equipment, it won't be as much as if a few guys have to climb the tree and do it that way.

I recommend Above All Tree Service
631-928-4544 (Bryan). They're located out of Setauket, NY. If I remember, they charged us $125 to take out a corner flowering tree for us. They also dug out the roots and chopped it all done and cleaned the lawn for us, so it wasn't covered in wood chips.
