If youve had a pretty elaborate bday cake done, please share a pic :) (homemade vendors if possible)
hi ladies,
melania and gianaluca's birthday is this month...and although i have a "go-to" bakery already that doesnt fantastic work, im trying to see if maybe going to someone who does it through their house may be alil less expensive and also alil more creative..as sometimes i cant believe how amazing the things you ladies make are!!
im looking for something pretty specific as my theme is "rock n roll babies" so im just trying to see if anyone knows someone i can contact..
ive been in touch with one lady but she quoted me the same as my regular bakery and ive never tasted her cake (so id probably just go to the bakery for the same price etc)

I'm not sure where you live but I have a girl I use in Farmingdale who is fantastic, and Palebride (Lori) is in the Nesconset area and she is amazing.

i used lady J's cakes - if you look her up on facebook - you can see my son's cake - it was the construction cake - it came out beautiful and tasted delicious and was pretty cheap too

I don't know if you consider it "elaborate" but we had a great cake made by Arleen from It's Just Cake.

Not done at home but I have had 2 elaborate cakes down at St. Honore, Port Washington. Cakes are absolutely amazing too.

I've been meaning to thank you Diana for recommending Dawn!!!! I tried to use her back in August but she was booked, so I booked her for my other daughters birthday in November. We had a Dora theme and not only was she a pleasure to work with, the cake was gorgeous, reasonably priced AND delicious!!!!!! (we picked it up the day before, kept it in our spare fridge over night and the party was the next evening... it was soooo fresh!!!) Here are some pics...

Her cakes looked awesome and we tried to book her, but I didn't get the deposit in on time and she was booked like 2 months in advance for the date we needed.
We also looked at Cakes by Mona which we heard was excellent, but she quoted us $350 for it. We already spent over $1500 on this party, so I just couldn't see spending that much on the cake.
We ended up getting a cake at Waldbaums, and I loved it. It was yummy and looked cool. Not one of the cool 3d cakes, but it was only $50.

I highly recommend the person Diana1215 recommended! I used her for my son's birthday and she is making my SIL's baby shower cake.
She made DS a Knights castle cake. Pictures are in my son's 4th birthday album on facebook! Check her out. Prices are reasonable too!
