If you've renovated a bathroom....

We are about to gut and renovate our bathroom. We have our layout, vanity, tile, tub and window.

I'm just curious though....what did you do that you LOVE? What do you wish you did differently? Is something particularly hard to clean? Worth the money? Not worth the money?

We got an airspa tub and built it out a bit with glass tile..while I love the way it looks it's a pain in the a$s to give DD a bath...esp since our tub is adjacent to our toilet

My bathroom isn't particularly large, I should have sprung for radiant heating in the floor. And someday, iI'll get a new shower head that had a hote with the hea at the ne. Eaaaseir to watch the shower.

- shower built-ins - for shampoo, soap, etc
- invest in a good exhaust fan

we are about to start this but DH did his parents not that long ago and I really love the tile half way up the wall. it looks so finished, and crown moulding.

wish I used a different contractor and ordered what I wanted, instead of listening to my DH.

Now I have to pay someone to fix what my original contractor effed up.

I wish we had done radiant heat or a heat lamp in the master bath

Get a heated floor!!!!!!!!!! We didn't. I want to shoot DH every day I step onto that cold tile.

Love that we:
Got radiant heating in the floor
Broke down the divider wall
Installed a cadicorner (sp?) shower for more space

Should have:
Gotten a better exhaust fan (and we got a pretty heavy duty one but it still seems to not be enough)
Love that we did crown moulding everywhere but in a bathroom the moisture makes it expand 7 contract even more often than the rest of the house so it is separating in spots. (Not sure I wouldn't have done it b/c of the appearance it gives but just wish there was a more durable option).

Better exhaust fan is important - - - helps keep moisture down which helps in cleaning.

I love that we have multiple shower heads.....aside from just being fun with or without DH, it's also helpful when we're in a time crunch to just shower together. No fighting for the hot water!

I made DH install an extra set of outlets - so we could have his electric razor and toothbrush plugged in at all times, while also allowing me to plug in the hairdryer and such. (He put the outlet in the medicine chest so the razor and toothbrush are constantly hidden.)
