I'm beside myself --
I'm shaking, we just got home from the Emergency Animal Hospital in Commack. We had to rush Reagan there after we got home tonight b/c her condition got WORSE when I thought it was going to get better! I'm so upset with myself for thinking the worst was behind her!
I had taken her to the Vet earlier - they gave me meds for her stomach, ruled out the serious stuff and I thought it would pass. We came home and she was COMPLETELY listless when I thought for sure she was doing better! She was almost like foaming at the mouth! I was hysterical and my husband and I rushed her to the Emergency - the whole time loose diarrhea was just leaking out of her. She was just completely listless. I can't believe how quickly she got this sick! I had no idea  
We rushed there and they immediately took X-Rays and put her on fluids. They said she needs to stay there until MONDAY and that she probably has pancreatitis or something like that because the parvo test came up negative and Schnauzers can get that if they ingest something with fat in it -- like chocolate (see post from earlier today) 
I'm beside myself - sick to my stomach, completely worried to the point where I can't even sleep or focus. I don't know what to do and my other dog, Charlotte (she's like her mom) is BESIDE herself too. It was all such a blur - we rush her in there, I'm signing something that says $1,400 on it and then that was that. They didn't even tell us she was going to be fine! They just said that we can call to check on her! They didn't reassure me at all.
Please say a prayer for Reagan. This is just awful.

btw, did they check for a blockage? Has she passed a regular bowel movement since Christmas (olive incident)?
Dear God, when can you call to get an update????? Can you go back to check on her?

First off
My best friend has a Schnauzer and had a very similar incident happen to her recently. EVERY thing you described. He ended up being rushed to the vet and was dx with a liver deficiency, after a blood test and sono of his liver, very common to that breed. He was placed on a special diet (REALLY STRICT no protein) and has not had any seizers or incidents since then.
Do you know if its outside or inside the liver?
He is doing reat now, happy and healthy, but has to be careful with vaccines and flea and tick meds.
I just called her..."max" is on
Prescription LV and is on a stool softener , 3x a day ($15 for a bottle/1 per month) , Very strict diet, all natural no protein, only carrots as treats.
If you need her vet info or anything i can help with please fm me.
Please know Max fully recovered and vets expect him to live a longggg happy life with his new diet.

Small update but first, to answer...
Yes, she has been fine since Christmas when she threw the olives up. Then, she got sick this time b/c she was given something with fat in it. Since she is only ten pounds it really effected her.
Schnauzers can get pancreatitis easier than most dogs - and eating something fatty can set it off right away.
They did an ultrasound and an X-ray to make sure there was no toy or something in there causing these issues. Her parvo test came up negative. So, they pretty much ruled out everything - the only thing that makes sense is pancreatitis. My Uncle's schnauzer had this once b/c he was given just a small amounf of pork - they didn't realize that the high fat content can really set the dog off and the dog was ill for days.
I called this morning to get a small update -- after calling all night and getting gloom-and-doom updates I finally got a glimmer of hope: they lady said "She perked up a TINY bit, she is still mostly listless and drained BUT she did wag her tail a bit, drank a little bit of water, and she has not had diarrhea now since 6am" which is a record for her b/c it was non-stop.
So, that was better than the updates I got during the night which were "it's up to her now, hopefully her body responds to the meds" 
So, it's definitely better but I'm just so scared. She will remain at the emergency place getting the IV fluids and meds until Monday AM when they close (they stay open for the weekends when Vets are not open) and then I'll be taking her straight to her normal Vet who is wonderful to take care of her until she is out of the woods.
And cost, I really don't care about what it costs - I'll pawn my freaking jewelry if I have to just to make sure she is OK - but the cost of this is pretty eye-opening. It's like a trip to the Bahamas  But I don't care b/c at the end of the day I just want her to be OK and I'm so glad that at least we have a glimmer of hope.

Her liver and kidney tests came back good. The pancreas was the concern which they feel is a result of being fed something fatty. Since she only weighs ten pounds it takes a really small amount of fatty food to set her off - you'd never think that such a little amount could do this! I mean, whatever my nephew snuck could not have been THAT much otherwise I think we would have noticed. But who knows. She is doing a TINY bit better - I wish it was more, faster but we just have to wait.
