I'm Feeling The Sting... **Updated- I Spoke With Her**
I just sent a text to a friend of mine who's birthday is today. She answered back, thanking me for remembering and then she tells me that she's pregnant.
She doesn't know how far along she is and she said she needs to figure that out so she can pin point who the father is.
She couldn't even afford the HPT, she got one from a friend who had an extra. She says she doesn't know what she's going to do.
I'm feeling sad that she's in this situation, but also for me and DH. We've been trying now coming up on a year. I've had a few family members and a friend who have gotten pregnant and had their babies already in the time that we've been trying. I wasn't hurt by those pregnancies (I was really excited about it, actually) because they are all married and were trying, but this one is killing me.
I'm going to be even more hurt if she has an abortion, which she might do. If this is the case, I wish she never told me at all.
Sorry to be a Debbie Downer, I'm just sad about this situation.
***Update***
I spoke with her on the phone to get the full story. She was on NuvaRing and it wasn't that she was being careless and sleeping around, she is completely oblivious to her cycles and body. She was seeing someone in August and then got AF in the begining of September and then started seeing someone new. She didn't know if it was possible to get her period and still be pregnant. I told her it was highly unlikely, although I'm sure it happens. I told her to see her OB/GYN to have them do an internal sono to see how big the baby is and they can tell her the likely time she conceived.
She was always against abortion, but she says obviously she was never in this situation before. I gave her a whole lot of advice and info to help her think about all possiblilties. She's very upset about having to make this decision.
I don't feel so badly for myself anymore because I wouldn't want to be in her place at this time.

Just read your update, that is a terrible situation for your friend to be in.
I hope she considers adoption if she does not want to keep the baby.
