I'm freaking out re: Car Seat inspections
OK, so DH and I were planning on trying to install the car seat and then taking it to the local fire department to get it checked out...now we find out our fire dept doesn't do it and all the places that do do it, don't have appts until much later!!!I'm due in like 3.5 weeks!!!! DH doesn't trust himself putting it in perfectly, considering a new study came out saying around 80% of car seats are installed incorrectly
Any suggestions of places..
We're in nassau county...

A lot of ppl don't secure it well enough, ppl think its in fine all the time and its really not....it looks right according to the instructions but it reallky isn't secure enough at all....

Both of my cousins just drove over to the local police station and went in to ask someone to check it out ...........
I never heard of having to make an appointment ?? -

Not all officers are trained in car seat inspections. You have to take a course to do it. Some stations only have 1 or 2 officers that can do it, so you would need an appt. to make sure they are available when you get there.
