Im furious!
At my mom, at the police, at my brother.. grrrr....
My other brother (who will be 20 in Aug)- apparently was woken up by a police officer @ 4am....
My brother was drunk as a skunk.... wreaked of alcohol, had no idea how he got where he got, how he'd fallen asleep... NOTHING...
The cop tells him...its ok... just walk home... and lets him go scott free....
Now this is the 2nd time he's been caught drinking and driving.... and my mom has done nothing about it!
She bought that car... and IMO she should take it away! To work and back....should be the only time he's allowed to drive it...
When my mom asked him if he'd hit anyone or anything... he just cried saying "I DONT KNOW- I CANT REMEMBER!!!!!!
Now tell me- what happeneds next time when thats me and my son in the car... he hits and kills us....????
Then what.... what happens to the cop who didnt do his job.... to the mother who let him go unpunished, and to the punk kid... who continued to drink and drive over and over again...???
Im so furious... just had to vent!

Oh Marissa, I'm so sorry That's not right that they let him walk home, but I am pretty sure if he didn't have the keys in the ignition, they cannot arrest him

He isnt even of age.... and lets think about it.... how the h ell did he get there... if he didnt drive...??

Wow, THAT'S horrible! I once had a friend who got a DWI because he was drunk, left the bar to go sleep it off in the car while he waited for his friends, but he had the radio on, and a cop who was waiting outside arrested him!

I just had a huge arguement with my mother.... because shes letting this go...
COME ON... the kid willing said he couldve hit/killed someone... and he simply couldnt remember!

Oh, that's so frustrating to hear. You must be livid
Your mom needs to show brother some tough love before she is visiting him in jail- (or worse ) She is enabling him.

What cracks me up is...
With the other brother... his "issues" went on for awhile before she finally "took action" SHe continues to give 2nd, 3rd, 4th chances.... and look how bad he turned out to be...
Now I understand since this one is a little older....its a little bit harder... BUT when he still lives at home, and she pays his bills... she has alot more control then she thinks!

I have no idea.... but how can you cry about things being so bad... when you let them go on forever before actually doing something about it...
Im not saying kick him out.... but TAKE AWAY THE DAMN KEYS...
When I talked to her this morning- she was dropping his car off about the mechanic to have a few things fixed... and guess who was paying for it?? Thats right - HER!
SOme punishment-right?

Sometimes I just don't understand what motivates parents to do things. I wish there was a magic word that you could say to make them snap out of it.
