I'm going back to ballet....
for fun. I've toyed with going to where I used to study for adult class, but always decided against it because I didn't know how I would feel to see myself be totally out of shape, ballet wise and just generally suck at something I used to be quite good at.
But I'm going this week; the heck with it. I just talked to my old teacher who thought it would be fun if I went again. DH thinks I need to look at it like a good work out and let go of expectations, but I'm just scared about how I might feel...depressed, happy, nostalgic, etc.

Good for you Lana. I have been doing the same thing. I really want to go back, just for FUN, but I'm scared. Let me know how it goes. Are you taking classes or teaching? I was thinking about teaching for now. Not sure yet...

i just went back to dance class also
well i went back last year it is so much fun and it gives me something to do

There is muscle memory to a certain degree, and I've kept in shape, but my legs and feet, strength wise, are nothing like they used to be....it's just going to be odd to even walk in there. Part of me feels like a failure, too. I just sort of quit, and I feel like I let people there down.

It's got to be tough to go back to dance where you used to go - but don't feel like a failure, Lana. You did what's right for you.
It may feel awkward walking in, but once you're warming up, that'll most likely disappear and you'll be concentrating on dance.

I take mine off for dance because between the barre and the floor, these hands get grimy!
