It will be hard, but think about how much you care about the mommy-to-be, and how much it will mean to you when one of these days, she's at your baby shower.
Once you get through it, you just might be proud of yourself for going.

I went to one a few weeks ago; it was tough, but I kind of ignored a lot of it (present opening), that was my way of getting through it. I just told myself that I would sneak out if it got rough and I explained that to my friend (she knew about the shower) and she was totally cool about it. Good luck.

i feel like i see pregnant women everywhere and get such a twinge of jelousy! But i keep telling myself that it will happen when the time is right...

I know what you mean, EVERY DAY I have to see at least two pregnant women - it's as if they are following me!! Within 5 minutes, two practically walked into me when we were in the city the other day - I was thinking "enough already".
