I'm having a problem with my cat - SPR
She's an outside cat, and has been doing her business outside for YEARS. She is a nasty, nasty, NASTY cat, and has been for years - doesn't allow anyone to touch her without hissing and scratching. I used to be the ONLY one she would allow, but even now she hisses at me and swats at me. Thankfully, she's scared of babies and of Alex so she stays away.
So, anyway, ever since Yael was born, she has been peeing on all of my bathmats.
This can't go on - the bathrooms are starting to smell and I can't keep buying new bathmats.
Any advice on how I can get her to stop doing this?

Re: I'm having a problem with my cat - SPR
Don't keep your bathmats on the floor. My cat loved to pee on bathmats/doormats because I think they were a bit grassy. Try only keeping your bathmats down when you are in the shower and then picking them up when you are finished. Eliminate what he likes to pee on, and it might solve the problem.

I agree, take the bathmats away and see how she does.

sorry to hear that.
Mine would do that before we found out he was diabetic. Took years to finally get the insulin right.
I dont know why they love bathroom mats!
Frankly, I just started to close the door. No cats were allowed in the bathroom unsupervised. Buddy loved going into the tub and drinking from the faucet or just laying on the cool tub, but we barred him from it unless we were watching him like a hawk.
Good Luck!

Re: I'm having a problem with my cat - SPR
We were having a problem with one of our cats. She was running into Kaydyn's room at any opportunity and peeing underneath her crib and sometimes on her laundry basket. We just started keeping the door closed all the time so she couldn't get in there.

Re: I'm having a problem with my cat - SPR
We are having the same problem since DD#2 was born- but our cats are peeing and spraying in our entranceway at night - we clean it every morning - but it is getting into our hardwood - We have spoken to our vet but can't seem to get them to stop no matter what we try - I'm at a total loss I posted over on pets but no one responded.
let me know if and how you get him to stop.

Definitely Pick up the mats and I would wait quite some time before trying again...maybe 6 months or so
