I'm having anxiety about getting my haircut tomorrow because...update
Once they start parting my hair and what not my scalp gets really flaky. I have bad dandruff  Not all the time, just when they get at my scalp. I'm mortified!
Got it cut and it was fine! He said it's very common esp. in the winter. I think the girl that I usully go to makes it worse because she uses those long pointy combs to part my hair and it stirs everything up. I bought a shampoo that he recommended that basically exfoliates your scalp. Thanks everybody!

I would say something like, "ever since the baby I've had a really dry scalp"....at least you will feel like you are giving them a warning. I'm sure lots of people experience this!

TONS of people have that and i'm sure it's not nearly as bad as some other people have it. they're honestly probably used to it and don't think twice about it.
if it bothers you though, try aveda scalp benefits shampoo and conditioner - they are amazing!

I have psoriasis in my scalp..it gets so dry and flaky this time of year.
what shampoo did they recommend b/c im always on the lookout for good scalp stuff

I'm glad your haircut went well. Just so you know, there are so many shampoos that a dermatologist can prescribe for this. Just tell them if you color your hair because some of them can strip some of the color. One of them, Nizoral, comes in an over the counter strength and a prescription strength. Once in a while I need a prescription shampoo that has a corticosteroid in it. I notice that some medications that I go on for other things makes the scalp itch worse.
