Re: I'm hoping all of our southern LIFers are safe!

Girl, lemme tell you.......I was never so scared in my friggin LIFE......I was at a coworker's house for a get-together in Raleigh while it happened. We were huddled in the bathroom, praying like friggin MAD......we were in total darkness (no power)....and this LOUD whistling noise and things banging against the house. There were 2 houses 2 BLOCKS AWAY that were wiped out down to the foundation......I was praying to God to let me get home to my kids........

took me 45 minutes to get out of her subdivision due to downed trees, power lines and debris blocking most roadways in her area. I was religious before, but good Lord, I found Jesus on Saturday, that's for sure!!!!!!

My heart BREAKS for all the people who lost their lives......God bless them.....

We recently moved to Western Wake County and are thankful that we are truly clueless Northerners! Next time we should listen to the Emergency Broadcast alert and maybe not have driven home from the bike shop(5min from the house) in what we "thought" was a severe thunderstorm. as we were driving we were wondering why "yellow stuff" was falling from the sky along with hail. Is this some sort of sludge????? Later to find out it was insulation from the homes and businesses that were being torn apart by TORNADOES.

Thankfully everyone we know is ok. And, our thoughts and prayers go out to those truly affected.

when I saw it on the news the first thing I thought of was our LIF members

I couldn't get over that Lowe's store- it was crazy to see it all torn to pieces!

Re: I'm hoping all of our southern LIFers are safe!

I live in Wake County about 1/4 mile from the direct path. We drove up there yesterday, there are holes in rooves(sp?) trees upended by their roots and insulation and sheetrock in trees. I was out of town in High Point for work and actually had no electricity from 12-5:45(I work with technology for events-so that was fun) My husband was home with the kids. Luckily we had no damage to our home or property except for some downed branches
