I'm in Medford! Anyone here what souded like gun shots in the sky last night?
4 family members and I heard sounds that were not thunder or fireworks in the sky last night around 8:30-9::00 PM. We are sure it was gun shots or "something" STRANGE! I see nothing on the news, ANYONE?

I am in Farmingville-there were definatelt fireworks going on somewhere at that time. I was putting my son to bed at exactly that time-heard a few distinct bangs-then a bunch of fireworks going off-pizzed me off because it woke up my son!

I heard it to ... I'm in Coram. DH was sleeping, and I actually woke him because I was so freaked out. I definitely did not sound like fireworks at first. It sounded like gunshots.

I am in Selden on the border of farmingville and I heard it. At first it definitely sounded like gunshots, then began to sound like fireworks. Either way, I thought it was weird since it was rainy and gross out and not typical firework weather.

I heard them, but much later. I heard 4 loud pops around 12/12:30. I woke up DH and he said they were probably fireworks. I honestly thought they were gunshots too.

10pm loud and i mean LOUD fireworks were going on over in the bald hill direction. I saw them...not too sure why or for what but they sure lit up my living room and shook my walls.

I live borderline holtsville/farmingville and someone was setting off fireworks in my neighborhood

Found out through facebook it was sachems homecoming preparty. They were fireworks.

Interesting. I didn't realize they did fireworks for homecoming.
I know they did them for the finals last year as I could hear them from my house.
