I'm just a complainy pants today
I asked DH to put a turkey breast in the oven later since he's home sick. tyring to eat better, eat a little earlier..lose some weight.
I told him I would give him step by step instructions..not hard.
he says, no I can't...I don't think I'll have the time or some BS like that.
Just add it to my list.
He will do it...I told him if he can't help out like this then I'm never cooking anything else for him.
Nice homemade chili and guac last night. that will be the last meal I cook.

Too busy?! Doing what!?! He's home sick, so he's too busy sitting on his a$$?!
Hang in there and go on a salad only diet - that will whip his butt into shape. Nothing p!sses off DH more then as he so eloquently puts it "rabbit food".

exactly. I can cook for one, I've done it before and i can do it himself.
he can eat Taco bell every night.
He agreed to do it. he probably thought it was way overwhelming.
How hard is it? Rinse it, season it and stick it in the oven...geez..he's seen me do it a billion times.

Well, you also told me roasting a chicken was a breeze but managed to leave out the part where I may find a feather that wasn't plucked!!
I still crack up every time I think about that endeavor!

Oh he's done this before...he's watched me countless times.
Feather...yeah, that can happen every now and then. I don't even think about it.

Re: I'm just a complainy pants today
it's just that the turkey breast takes 1 1/2 hrs and if he could get it started dinner could be at a reasonable time.
Then we would have more time for Guitar Hero!!!

nah, just simple stuff..I told him I would give him excellent directions..
take the turkey out of the wrapper and rinse. Put it in a pan. Take some olive oil in your hand and rub it all over the turkey. Season it with Kosher salt, coarse black pepper, garlic powder, paprika and I bought this new poultry seasoning...see if you can find it..if not don't sweat it. Pre-heat the oven to 325. Cover the turkey loosely with foil and stick it in. After an hour put the meat thermometer in it. Want it to be about 165 degrees. Should be done in about 90 minutes.
Come on, it ain't brain surgery.

DH knows better than to ask me to prepare or cook something for dinner. Everyone loses in that situation- doesn't matter how clear the directions are.

ok, but he's done all kinds of different things in the kitchen..he would rather I do it..that's the point. I think he might have been intimidated but he helps me in the kitchen all the time...he was just being lazy since he is sick today and wants sympathy. I even taught him how to make homemade chicken soup.

you betcha...although he agreed to do it..
he does this mind game thing too...he will purposely make a mistake at something I ask him to do just so he never has to do it again. It's a real sitcom in my house.

WOW....I consider myself a pretty decent cook, but I have yet to master a good chicken soup.
How do you make yours?
