I'm making an appt to see a dermatoligist, noticing tiny itchy red bumps on my abdomen. UPDATE 7/23
I had one about a week ago and didn't think anything of it. I have about 8 of them now and some are itchy and filled with fluid. They are tiny little raised red dots. The only time I want to itch is when I'm in bed.
I hope its nothing serious. I was thinking heat rash or spider bites. When I find out I will let you know. I read online that it could be pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy (PUPPP).
here's the link just fyi

Re: I'm making an appt to see a dermatoligist, noticing tiny itchy red bumps on my abdomen
I have PUPPP's ... it didn't start as little tiny fluid filled bumps. It started with a stretch mark and the middle of them swelling. Then I got a rash all over (under the boobs to the toes) .. it was bumpy, but also the entire skin surface was raised and swollen. I have small red bumps now that look like a heat rash and I am itchy all over ... but it is different than the PUPPP's rash.
I hope you only have some sort of heat rash because Puppp's is awful

I had something similar when I was pretty early on, about 8-12 wks. It started off as small red dots. The derm said it was a normal skin affliction kind of like chicken pox. It has nothing to do with being pg, but he said sometimes we are more susceptible to things. If you have what I had, it lasted about 3-4 wks & went away on it's own.
I'll have to do a search to find the name (I guess I blocked it out!).

Found it.
I had a skin condition called pityriasis rosea. It's a virus kind of like chicken pox (only it's not contagious) & it forms little red marks in a turtleneck pattern. Basically, it shows up anywhere a turtleneck would cover (neck, arms, chest, stomach & back) & it itches like crazy.
I hope you don't have this or pupps & that it's just a little rash

Sounds like shingles. RUN do not walk to the MD b/c if it is shingles you need treatment within @ 4 days for it to be effective.

Re: I'm making an appt to see a dermatoligist, noticing tiny itchy red bumps on my abdomen
I went to the Dr. this afternoon and she said she didn't want to take a biobsy of it to determine 100% what it is because she said there didn't seem to be a lot and a few were drying up. She said it could be a number of things she's not ruling out
- flea bites/or insect bites (I have dog, but she was groomed two weekends ago and she doesn't scratch herself)
- allergic reaction to soap/detergent ( I stopped using Dove sensitive soap and was using Oil Of Olay soap also my mom came over and did a load of laundry with regular detergent. I only use free and clear detergent because my skin is very sensitive.
- Poison Ivy (My husband was in contact with it 2 weeks ago, he never broke out but you never know if I got some oil on me)
- pupps (common in later term pg)
I'm seeing her in exactly a week to see if it is clearing up. If there is more on my body she will perform a biobsy and take care of it from there. She gave me a prescription for Locoid Lipocream to use morning and night to clear up the bumps and an over the counter cream for the itchiness called SARNA.
Hopefully it clears up within the week.

Well, at least the derm wasn't too concerned. The sarna lotion did nothing for me, it's kind of watery. I just used calamine lotion when I couldn't take the itch
