I'm on a roll- Dressing Girls...is there a learning curve to fashion?

Dressing two girls has suddenly become HARD. Now they fit into all these cute outfits.

Well with those outfits there is also..., shirts, or dresses, skirts, with tights or leg warmers or matching socks and matching shoes, and hair bows .....
And I find myself looking at the "end" result and thinking...OMG, they look ridiculous.

I miss the carters one pieces!

I know this is a silly question and if this is the height of my problems..Amen...I'm just saying in a joking way..Will I get the hang of all the accesories and extra clothes?

Boys are so easy!

Like I dont get when to put tights on, when to use a sweater, to get sweaters and tights to match....Do black shoes go with everything? Headband or headbow? Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Add to it that they now scream like I'm burning them with acid when I try to get them dressed and squirm like a fish out of water....and that its all times 2 and I'm ready for a drink at noon!

I don't even bother dressing AnnaSophia up like an Etsy model. She is still a baby and looks better in a carters onsie imo. My other 2 rock all that other stuff you're talking about well. It looks right on them.
I know exactly what you mean and that's why I don't get crazy with my 1 year old with clothes. I dress her cute but very simple to save myself an added headache.
eta. black goes with mostly everything. I try to get 3 pairs of shoes..blk, brwn and pink. My older ones share shoes so it's easier so I don't have to buy double. Do they have the same shoe size?

I don't do all the matching headbands, bows, tights, leggins, etc. in ONE outfit.
I think when you overdue it, the kid does look ridiculous, IMO.

There is always just ONE focal point to DD's outfit.

I don't do all that nonsense. I just dress her very simply, but really cute. I get compliments everywhere I go on how my girls look. I basically dress them like I'd dress myself -- a dress with coordinating tights and shoes; pants and a matching shirt, shoes and socks; you get the picture. I DO have matching hair accessories for most outfits -- either clips or headbands, but I don't get into the whole layering look that is being shown right now. They get a sweater if it is chilly, otherwise, their clothes are it (except for their outer jacket when necessary of course).

wow I give you credit.

I am not that motivated

She usually matches in one way. So if she has rainbow pants on, I'll pick one color for her top and socks and her ponytails. If she's got a pattern on one, she gets a solid or mostly solid on the other. Grey, brown, black and Navy are my favorite colors.

I have a few matching things.. but never all together.

I just buy their clothes at JCPenny, I stick to 1 print and one solid....we rarely wear dresses or skirts (to hard to climb in) We buy sneakers and 1 pair of party shoes. I buy solid pony tail holders and a few cute bows.

DD is only 7 months, but I subscribe to Coco Chanel's theory-look in the mirror and take one accessory off. I dress DD in a lot of Baby Gap and other places, including Carter's, and I never do everything from one collection. I pick and choose. If I want a headband, I tone down the shoes and socks for example.

You guys took me WAY too seriously...LOL

I am not that into it...not at all.

Was just thinking how today the weather was a bit colder, and The girls have a lot of mismatched hand me down things....So I had nice dresses for them someone gave us, but I thought..Geez, do they need a shirt under it..Then I thought..geez...do they need tights or leggings....Then I had no socks to match the dresses, so they wore white and we were going out and so I put shoes on which didnt match and I had to laugh at myself, they looked so mis-matched.

Honestly, I dont really care and never thought about it after this post.

BUT I did think how easy it was to throw sweatpants and a sweatshirt and running sneakers on DS and how he looked cute Chat Icon Chat Icon

That could be my issue. Chloe cant wear pants Chat Icon Chat Icon

She is a size 0-3 months in skirts....and a 0-3 month pant would come up to her thighs Chat Icon So her only options right now are dresses or skirts.
