I'm sorry but I have to ask- re: Reflux

DD was doing very well on Similac Sensitive for weeks and weeks. Then the last almost 1.5 weeks she's been getting VERY irritable, gassy, fussy, SCREAMS after every feeding. She burps a lot, farts a lot and is completely miserable.
Called the ped and we went in, diagnosed her with Reflux. We changed formula's to Enfamil AR. The first 2 days were AWESOME. she was smiley, happy, calm etc. Just like she used to be. Then yesterday and today were miserable Chat Icon
I cry for her after every feeding. She's sooooo uncomfy. She screams, curls up into a ball, and just cries and cries.
Is there any instant relief for this? Or do i have to let her ride out the pain?
I know tonight is going to be a night from hell, so what can I do in the mean time before calling the Ped?
She originally told me to give the formula until monday to see if it's realy going to work for DD. I can tell already it's a disaster Chat Icon

It might be more than reflux, she might have a milk sensitivity or allergy in which case the AR is going to be worse than the Sensitive, I wouldn't have suggested that switch as that's going back to a full milk protein formula. I would get a recommendation for a ped GI tomorrow and bring in a dirty diaper to get tested for a milk allergy. If she's just sensitive, Gentlease or Nutramigen or Alimentum are your best bets, if she's truly allergic she may have to go on an AA formula. But seeing a GI is your best bet as they are way more schooled in these issues than your ped. She may also need meds if it's just reflux, a formula change is sometimes not enough either, def see a GI. Good Luck!Chat Icon

The AR has rice cereal in it - that can constipate babies too so could that be what's going on? If the Sensitive was better, you could add rice cereal to that, but I agree with PP that you should get a diaper tested for an allergy or sensitivity to milk protein.

Take a poopy diaper to your dr and have it tested for a milk protein/soy allergy. DS had the same symptoms too. And he has a severe milk protein/soy allergy on top of the GERD.
