I'm starting to really get nervous....

Jack started with this cold last Monday...he's got a runny nose, congestion and I think he's teething on top of it. We're using the humidifier and saline drops. We're also giving him tylenol before bed. The DR said no cold meds until he's 2! Every time we put him down for a nap or sleep, it's like we're CIO all over again, only he screams now. The past few days he's even started crying on his changing table in anticipation of us putting him in the crib.

Is this normal???? Is there something we can be doing differently? I feel like a failure with this.....there's nothing I can do to make him better

i know its so sad when you dont know what to do to make them feel better.. it breaks your heart. youre doing the right stuff though.. just try to hang in there. are you having him sleep on an inline? that could help with the congestion.. also have you tried vicks plug-ins in his room? i hope he feels better soon.

DS does the SAME thing when he is not feeling well. He just wants us to hold him.

Dealing with this for the past week with DD (although I don't think as badly as you are)

The on call pediatrician had us put a pillow under the mattress to keep her on a slight incline while she's sleeping. (I used the tiny pillow that matches the bedding set that raises it just ever so slightly)
Everything else you are doing sounds right. I give DD just the tiniest drops of Tylenol which helps her so much.
But when she screams or is that cranky - I will hold her as long as she needs me to while she's sick

sounds like you're doing everything right already. the only thing i can think of is maybe elevating his crib mattress to help a bit with the congestion?dunno if that works but i just did it to try to help ds with his stuffy nose (he always seems more uncomfortable lying flat.)
