I'm super excited - My first appointment
is October 1st!!!!  I talked to the office today and told them what's up. She said that I'll still get the pap, but also they'll do blood work and an ultrasound. Awwww. She said that I should be able to hear the heart beat too. I'm trying to figure out if DH should come or not. I know that he wants to be apart of everything, but it's in the middle of a workday. Not sure if it's worth us BOTH taking off of work. What do think? Did your husbands come with you to that first visit?

My dh came with me to all appts.. I think he should go at least for the first one and especially since you are having a sono the first appt is soooooo surreal and magical

YES absolutely have him there. I was such an amazing experience to see that lil bean on the screen, heart beating away.

DH and I both took off to go to our first appt, it's very exciting seeing the little bean for the first time and the hearbeat.
DH was over the moon, and it was really touching seeing his face and knowing we've started a family together. The OB goes over a bunch of questions, so DH gets a chance to ask anything that I didn't. I would def recommend your DH go, he can miss the other appts

I agree with all of the pp's...If it's possible for him to take off, definitely have him go with you. It's one of those days that you'll never be able to repeat...

I was freaked out and since it was the first u/s I had DH come. Now he will only come for the 16 wk scan and the anatomy/level II scan. We are addressing other appointments down the road.
IMO-I would tell DH to come-it is exciting to see that baby for the first time and to hear the HB! It really is a once in a lifetime experience!

DH comes to all my sonos. He doesn't come if it's just a regular appt.

thanks for the advice - I already told him about it and it seems that he really wants to come. So hopefully he'll be able to get off of work. The doctor said that there's not much to see on the screen, but being that we'll hear the HB, and it's our first child. I dunno - i think I would really like him there with me

Congrats, I think DH should go to the appointment with you. My DH hasn't missed any and is just as excited as I am at every appointment.
