I'm wearing this navy dress to a christening on Sunday...
Is it OK to wear black shoes with it? The shoes in question are a strappy wedge. If not, what color would look best?

Personally I love navy and black together.. but not a navy dress and black shoes... i'd go with a navy shoe, or silver, or gold...

I don't think black will look so good.. tan,brown, white or any metallic color would look nice..
Even red flats would look good

That navy looks too close to black. I'd wear anything else--even a color, like red or yellow would work.

And match with accessories.
