In a wedding party while preggo and had to order my dress...depressed!
One of my best friends is getting married in April and I'm in her wedding party. I'll be 29 weeks at that time and when I ordered my dress yesterday, they ordered one which is 5 sizes bigger than I wear right now. It's crazy! I'm normally an 8/10 on bottom and a 6 on top and they ordered the dress so big because it's difficult to add material to it and easier to take it away. I choked when she told me what size I should order. I know it's all because of the pregnancy but I'm not sure why it's bothering me so much. Am I being crazy? Thanks for letting me vent.

Oh T, its natural to feel blaahhhh ordering such a large size, especially after you worked so hard to look so great for your wedding few months ago. Don't let the size get to you, think of your little bean inside and by then he'll be a big bean & almost ready to come out & see you....at least you won't have to stress worrying if the dress is going to be able to be altered/fit....you'd rather them have to take it in.

Why don't you talk to her about ordering you a maternity dress in the same color? That's what I was going to do for my sister's wedding. You will feel better in a dress made for a pregnant woman.
Don't worry about the size. It's just a number.

Thanks Cin. I don't know why I'm letting it bother me so much. Probably because my emotions are so out of whack lately. We actually looked into a maternity dress but the designer only carries it in certain colors and that did not, unfortunately, include anything close to the color she chose. I figure it's only a few hours and I told her I'd probably bring a dress to change into if I get really uncomfortable at the reception. Thanks for being so supportive, ladies! I know I'm just being silly.

I ha the same problem for my sisters wedding. they ordered a size 18..Im normally a size 8/10 as well. I was 5 months PG with tiwns. When I went to ry it on for a fitting, it fit so snug. The woman told me to NOT gain weight in the next 2 weeks
I demaded that they take the belly area out and they did

I was in a wedding in September and I was only 6 weeks at the time, but I had already gained a little belly weight and the dress was extremely tight in that area. I just looked FAT and not pregnant at that point. They had to take the dress out and it looked HORRIBLE. I was so upset...I wished that I had ordered a larger size. So DEFINATELY be happy about them having to take it in, if anything. I am sure you will look beautiful.

I'm due in June and I'll be in my friend's wedding in August.....so I have to order a dress and I have NO idea what size I'll even be then. I'm dreading ordering it becasue it's going to be huge!!!
