In an appliance pickle, who would you go with?

I got a referral from a friend for appliances and the woman has been great. I emailed her all the model #s and she gave me great prices, MUCH lower than Sears.

Then my MIL told me to call a local place that has a good reputation, my mom bought a bunch of things there too. Total, they were about the sane price.

I already told the first woman that I would be in to place my order and she said she would help me on the tax if I paid cash, not sure about the delivery.

The local place is free delivery and I haven't asked about the tax yet, gotta do that in person.

My dilemma is that I would feel bad not getting the appliances from the first place because she has been so nice, but so has the 2nd guy, he even told me about a rebate offered on the fridge.

Who would you go with?

I would go with whomever was giving you the best price and overall deal. If it's the second place, I would be honest with the 1st woman and tell her the other offer. They might beat it for you.

I agree - be honest with the first place and see if she can at least match their offer.

You're probably spending a small fortune, you're not obligated to the first woman b/c she was 'nice' - It's a service industry, she's supposed to be nice to you !! - (Sad that it's actually a plus when some actually IS nice to you !) - I agree with the above poster, call and let her know if the 2nd deal is better, maybe she will match it for you -

i would tell the 1st woman that you need to think about it and will get back to her, then buy from the 2nd guy. sneaky, i know but i hate confrontation.
