My parents dog had back surgery also (im assuming your dog had similar surgery) and they built him a ramp to get on their bed. It works well. They have the stairs for the couch and he couldnt get used to it. They just kinda taught him not to jump on the couch. He will still jump from time to time, but they all make an effort to carry him off the couch when he does jump. But they sell those stairs all over. They bought them at Target.

I hope your doggie is alright. Its hard to have a daschund with back problems. We are always so worried about Nathan. He has had some issues since then and thankfully steriods have helped. He is 11 years old.
