In Home day care
If the person says 50 dollars a day, does that mean that if u are on vacation or the child is sick you dont pay?

Re: In Home day care
I think it would depend. My friend has 3 children - the woman she brings her kids to is very flexible, so if she decides to take Monday off, she can bring them in Tuesday, etc. Or if she needs her for 25 hours rather than 20 that's fine too. I think it would depend on the owner.

Re: In Home day care
I think you have to ask. When my sister paid in home daycare she had to pay them for their vacations and if she kept my niece or nephew home for being sick.

Re: In Home day care
That's a good question. I would think that if they watch a bunch of kids, you wouldn't have to pay for the days you don't use.

Re: In Home day care
i babysit in my home...if the child is sick or the parent goes on vacation i do not get paid. This was a mutual decision between me and the parent...however i also babysit for another child and i brought her home early and the parent still paid me the full day ...everyone is different so be sure to clear it up before you sign up with this person to watch your child. GOOD LUCK!

Re: In Home day care
i am going ot be poaying 50 a day as well heres how it works. If i cancel short notice i still pay. If she cancels on me short noticer i DO NOT pay. I pay her for days i am off like lets say colombus day where its one day off but when i am off for christmas or easter break ( i am a teacher) i am not required to pay her. Although she said in her circle of babysitters some people charge for a half a week. So for example i am using her 4 days a week if i dont need her for the week of chritsmas break i would pay her for 2 of teh 4 days.she said she doenst practice this but she did tell me whet others do. Althoughs he is my aunts friend so i would probobly payher for teh two days when i am not taking the baby there all week.

I was given a list of agencies that I have contacted. It's a little early for me to be looking...I'm looking for Nov 1st start but I was able to talk with them abou their process. FM me if you want the list. I got it from Suffolk Country Childcare council.
