In Kelly's absence...let's see your weather forecast for the alleged snowstorm
We're all sending out our best thoughts to Michael..but man, I miss her now. You know it's bad when your friend from childhood, your sister & your mom email/text/call to see what her forecast says.
Let's see what you have to say. In her honor, you need to use the forecast from: http://www.weather.gov/

Re: In Kelly's absence...let's see your weather forecast for the alleged snowstorm
Per the website
LOW PRESSURE IS FORECAST TO DEVELOP OFF THE MID ATLANTIC COAST FRIDAY AND THEN TRACK NORTHEAST TO OFF THE NEW ENGLAND COAST BY SATURDAY. THE CURRENT FORECAST TRACK BY THE MODELS IS INDICATING A WIDESPREAD ADVISORY LEVEL SNOW EVENT...HOWEVER THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR PORTIONS OF THE TRI-STATE AREA TO RECEIVE WARNING LEVEL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS. IN ADDITION...ANY DEVIATION OF THIS FORECAST LOW TRACK COULD CHANGE THE FORECAST SIGNIFICANTLY.

Re: In Kelly's absence...let's see your weather forecast for the alleged snowstorm
Well, per their predictions, we arent getting anything, saying 1 inch for Melville if that...
However, other forecasts are saying 3-5 inches, and still others saying 6-9 inches...
The storm is still forming, so its a little early to determine track, but if it follows current air currents, it could have a similar track to The 12/26 storm. It hasnt had as much time to develop, so i would say 3-5 inches of snow

There will be no snow. I am saying this because I have a flight on Saturday. Maybe it is wishful thinking, maybe delusions...but there will be NO snow!

Re: In Kelly's absence...let's see your weather forecast for the alleged snowstorm
From Newsday...
While not the foot or two of snow that pummeled the area last week, a storm due to arrive on Long Island on Friday may drop another 6 to 8 inches of the white stuff, adding to what is already piled on the sides of the roads.
Current tracking indicates that snowfall will likely be 2 to 4 inches, but portions of the tri-state area may see about 6 to 8 inches, said meteorologist John Murray of the National Weather Service.
While the snow is expected on Friday, there is a chance the snow will arrive a day early, Murray said.

Accuweather.com is also forecasting a chance of snow Friday into Saturday, with about 5 inches predicted.
More of a problem will be black ice, as most of this week has temperatures above freezing during the day and below freezing at night, allowing snow to melt and then refreeze, Murray said.
We might be in for a chillier-than-normal month, too. Despite a trend toward warmer temperatures, AccuWeather.com chief long-range forecaster Joe Bastardi is saying this month could turn out to be the coldest January on average for the nation since 1985.
Highway departments are gearing up for the next storm.
The last storm cost the Town of Smithtown about $230,000 for overtime and an extra $120,000 to clean sidewalks in the town's three business districts, but that was also over a holiday weekend, said Highway Superintendent Glenn Jorgensen. This next wave of snow will bring fewer inches, he said, and will cost less.
