In search of a dance class in Nassau with NO recital (a small one is fine--not the big production)

DD is 2 and LOVES to dance. I want to get her involved in dance at around 2.5 and want to start the search now.

I am NOT interested in the $50 outfits and 3 hour recitals. IMO she is too young for that and I just want it to be for fun.

Does anyone know of a place with no recitals, or recitals that are small and inexpensive? Southwest Nassau would be best but I can travel. Thanks!!

We are currently going to Modern Rhythems in Bethpage. It is on 107 going towards the Grummen buildings.

Last year we went to Nancy's Dance Factory in Levittown and even though the price was great it was HORRIBLE. The atmosphere was the worst and my daughter learned VERY LITTLE dance wise, and the recital was a disaster.

Modern Rhythems DOES have a recital. It will be held at a local high school. I think they are a fantastic school and are worth looking into, even though they have a recital. As a parent I am sure that if you voiced your concerns they would allow you to opt out of the recital if need be. The ladies who run it couldn't be any more understanding.

My kids go to the dance place in Hisckville. Recital is optional.

Techniques in Wantagh has a dance class for 2.5 yr olds and they don't do a recital at that age.

This is far from me but I really like it... It is in Port Washington, it is Danceworks and your DD would be in my DD class... its called Tutu's and Tiaras... its a cute class, just teaches them patients and waiting their turn and fun dancing... I looked at 4 difference schools and finalized on this one! Good luck! its an annoying search to find a good fit!
