In Your Home Who Is The Disciplinarian

and how important is discipline to you?

Dh and I are both very firm disciplinarians. We both believes in discipline. I know that Ella will be taught discipline from very early because we both believe in bending the tree from it's young.

We both are also. I think parents should be on the same page when it comes to disciplining. I am not a fan of good cop-bad cop roles. I don't think it teaches the child anything.

We both are but DH is probably stricter than I am. I think he's too hard on them, Joseph in particular. I think he lets Maddie get away more stuff because she's a girl. That doesn't play well with me. I think you need to be more consistent. Of course we have those conversations AWAY from the kids.

DW is the main disciplinarian, but that's only because she's a SAHM, and discipline can't "wait until your father comes home!". We are both on almost the exact same page when it comes to discipline, however. I definitely step in and discipline when I am home. Whoever witnesses it, or is physically closer is usually the one who disciplines.

We both are and both back up each other 100%. If I say no to something that maybe DH would have said yes to, he always backs me, and visa versa. Ryan knows that neither of us is the softy, but he seems to listen to DH more for whatever reason.

We both are. DH tends to lecture more than I would but we are on the same page when it comes to discipline.

For a while, before DS started school, most of it fell on me because I was home with DS all day. Whatever action I took DH would always back me up.

I know I will be...with out a doubt. I won't be super strict but compared to my boyfriend i'm sure it will seem like I am. Seems like my boyfriends family believes the children should always be happy no matter what. Basically they get what they want when they want...especially if they cry. I believe there should be rules and discipline.

Re: In Your Home Who Is The Disciplinarian

we both are and before having her discussed how we will back eachother up 100%.

DH did say however that he thinks he is going to be more of the punisher and me more the mediator.

Re: In Your Home Who Is The Disciplinarian

I would say I am but I'm a sahm therfore I'm the one with the children all day. Also dh & I don't agree often on how to discipline our children so he leaves it up to me to save us an aruguement and just backs me up.

Re: In Your Home Who Is The Disciplinarian

We are both firm disciplinarians. I have seen first hand how out of control 2 certain family members have become because there is NO, ZERO discipline and I will be damned if my child ever becomes like those two.

That being said, because I am with him 24/7 I'm the main disciplinarian, but when he isnt listening I will let Daddy take over

For the most part it's me, mainly b/c I'm with them the majority of the time. On the weekends DH will ask them not to do the same things I do during the week. The only time where I'm stricter than DH is bedtime, when he is home on the weekend he will let them play past their bedtime, and then I have to be the wet blanket to say "Ok, time for bed"

DH and I are on the same page with what behaviors we think are acceptable, so it's pretty easy for us to both be consistant. But ours are both very young and we haven't really needed to discipline them beyond "Don't color on the door" type stuff.

I am for the most part. However, we don't always agree on how to discipline and so sometimes he tries to argue with me over how to handle certain situations.

We both are. In fact, when I was single, I used to say I only wanted kids just so I could discipline them Chat Icon

I think I am quicker to lose my temper and DH is a better "reasoner" in the heat of the moment, but neither of us tolerate bad behaviour.
