Inconclusive Fragile X test - update
I spoke to the doctor... he said that there just wasn't enough DNA to develop a result, but whatever portion of the test they were able to use, was fine and he's confident that this will be fine. He's the second doctor in the practice to tell me this so I guess I can rest assured for now. Also, he went on to tell me that even if I were a carrier DH would also have to be in order for there to even be a problem.
Thanks for the support!
Original message: Anyone else get an inconclusive test result the first time they did the blood work?
My doctor told me 900 times not to worry about it, but I just went on WebMD to see what it is... now I'm TOTALLY WORRIED. I don't think I'll sleep until I get the blood results back as good... I depressed DH about it too.
I'm freaking out! Doctor said that the range is big and that 99% of the time the retest turns out fine.

Re: Inconclusive Fragile X test
I know someone who has Fragile X. Its like a mild autism. He is the sweetest boy! Of course we all wish that our babies will not have any condition to make lives more difficult, but this is not a horrible condition. I understand your fear, but stay positive. It may not even be a true positive.

Re: Inconclusive Fragile X test
I know you prob left for work but I found a good site for you with a lot of info. But before I give it remember the doctor only said it is inconclusive that does not mean positive. It just means there was a problem with the test and it needs to be rerun. You have been through too much already to give up now fragile x I will also send this to you at liweddings in case you miss this here. Please try not to worry too much. Remember stress is a trigger for clotters so take a nice warm bath after work and try to relax.
