Inconsiderate grandparents...really long
So this past Saturday I was sitting and talking with my mother and grandparents(on my mom's side). I was wearing a tacksuit and my hair was up in a ponytail. My bf Anthony was coming over in an hour to pick me up.
Usually if I hang out with my bf and we're staying in, I wear a track suit or something comfy. When we go out, I always dress up, I love to dress up.
Anyway, my mom starts talking about how she disapproves that I don't always dress up when I see my bf. My grandparents agree with my mother and tell me that he's going to leave me because of my looks and what I choose to wear doesnt satisfy him. Then my grandmother takes it further and says "if I were you, I'd wear extra makeup because, you knowm you're ugly". Then my grandfather agrees.
I'm ugly to them because
I don't have huge boobs
I don't have a huge ***
I choose not to dye or cut my hair
I'm really disliking my mother and grandparents right now.
But, I love my grandparents on my dad's side. (Pic of dad's mom in my profile)

That is horrible!!!!
My grandfather is known to make rude comments about everyone in the family and it bugs the hell out of me! Just because they are old doesn't excuse them being rude!!!
If I were you, I would not pay any attention to them. BTW, I just saw your profile pic and you are Beautiful!!!!

I just saw your profile picture. Um, I really don't know how they were actually looking at you and saying that because you're BEAUTIFUL! I know that it's not something that you're going to forget that was said, but please do not, do not, do not believe them!

Jess, you are beautiful and kind, so please ignore what they are saying. I do know how you feel, however. My grandfather started in on me as soon as DH and I started dating. Starting calling me a Loose Woman, asked me all the time if I was pregnant, that if I did get pregnant, I'd have to leave their house. When DH and I got engaged, he wouldn't even look at my ring. This past summer, I got into a fight with my mom that EVERYONE knew about and he told me in the middle of crying that I abandoned the family. Please ignore them. Most likely, they are jealous of who you are and what opportunities you have to better your life!

Im so so sorry you have to go through something like this... Its a darn shame we cant pick our family....I wish yours could see you as you are unconditionally. Dont let that negative attitude shape you at all.

Seriously chica a lot of pople talk just because they can....you know cause they have a mouth. I wouldn't sweat it, it's not nice of them to say but they're old school. You know how it is, they feel like you have to dress up to 'please" the man

I'm sorry they said that. Definately an old school way of thinking. You are so pretty! I would love to look like you!
And as far as dressing up goes, I'm in sweats and no makeup all the time and somehow got pregnant twice, so it can't be that important to all guys.

Hey jess, I am sooo sorry they said that to you, I can only imagine how sad you feel. Please do not let the old school mentality get to you.. First of all from your picture u r truly gorgeous, a natural beauty--with a great body and u dont even need makeup or ur hair dyed!!! as another girl who is dating someone--and not married..i can tell you i do the same thing..i get dressed up for work everyday and when i see my bf and we r lounging around i am in sweats, unless we rgoing out at nite or alot of pple r around, will i go the whole nine yards...jeans, nice shirts, and what not....unless he is wearing a shirt and tie every moment ur together, then u need to feel free to be urself, he obviously cares about u exactly how you are dressed up or dressed down so please dont let other peoples backwards opinion affect you.... our SO's will see us at our best and at our worst--(that goes for them to) and if someone loves you, they will love you for how u r-- every way possible...

So I told Anthony tonight what they said and we've decided that whenever I see my granparents, I will wear absolutely no makeup and dress comfy just to piss them off.
All that matters is that I feel comfortable in my own skin and I do.
