Incredibily horrifying, yet amazingly hopeful article I read in Glamour magazine

by Eve Ensler

I am not really a big Vajay Monologue fan. But I read an article she wrote about time she spent at Panzi Hospital in the Congo about women who are being victimized with DEPRAVED sexual violence...rapes and tortures like you would never believe.

I don't really know where this should go. But I was just crushed for these women, and amazed by them.

I wish more people would sit up and take notice.

I read that article too when I got the magazine a few weeks ago.

The pictures and the stories of what some of those women have gone through - it took my breath away that they have forgiven and trying to move on with their lives to better themselves and their children.

And praise that male doctor who is out there sacrificing his own safety to help those women!Chat Icon Chat Icon

it is truly sickening that in some countries of the world, women are still being treated like second class citizens, even worse than animals.

The "we cashed some change" has more views than this thread.

Let's get it together people and read something important.

I can't form logical thoughts right now. I am trying to get the images out of my head. I hope these women continue to get help and treatment. G-d please watch over them so they do not continue to be brutalized.Chat Icon

THis DR was on Oprah awhile back and he is just an amazing person. It is realy the most distrurbing thing I have ever read about and makes me think twice when I complain about anything in my life that is so trivial compared to what these women go through.

Oprah sent this one hsopital clothes for the girls and bracelets that these women in the US made for them. It was so sad but when these girls put the bracelets on they were crying hysterical that someone gave them something and was not hurting them for once. It really truly puts our lives in perspective.

Seeing things like this in our world makes me feel so helpless. and makes me wonder why a baseball player can get 20milion a year but nothing is done about these poor woman who are tortured day in and out. Just horrible.
