indian food?

i am looking for some good indian recipes. in particular:

chili prawns namaste
murg makhani (butter chicken)
chicken mughlai
subz miloni

not sure if these are the authentic names, but i get them from my favourite restaurant so these are the names. i really want authentic recipes.

I don't have any recipes, but in honor of this post I have sent my husband out in the rain to get me a curry!!!

Tandoori Butter Chicken
Samosas
Peshwari Nan
Pilau Rice.

BUTTER CHICKEN
Ingredients:-

Chicken cut into small pieces - 1 kg
Finely chopped Onion - 3
Tomato Puree - 3 or 4
(I’ve used store brought tomato paste)
Chopped Cilantro - 1 tbsp
Butter - 4tbsp
Oil - as needed
salt - to taste

For Spice Masala:-
Ginger - 1 inch piece
Garlic cloves - 12
Kashmiri Chilly Powder/Paprika - 2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Whole Pepper - 1 tsp
1? sized Cinnamon piece - 2
Cloves - 3
Cardamom - 2
Cumin seeds - a pinch
Grind these together to a smooth paste.

For Cashew Paste:-
Cashews - 6
Milk - 2 tsp
Make a paste of cashews and milk.

For Garnishing:- (OPTIONAL)
Heavy cream - 1 tsp
Chopped Coriander/Chopped spring Onion - 1 tbsp
Grated Cheese/Butter - 1 tsp

Method:-

Heat oil in a pan and saute onion till brown.Add ground spice masala and salt, fry it well until oil starts to seperate.Now add 2tbsps of butter and pour tomato puree into it.Simmer it till the gravy thickens.Now throw in the chicken pieces and cook in medium heat.(Add only hot water if needed).Just before switching off add 2 tbsp of butter,ground cashew paste and 1 tbsp of coriander leaves.Simmer for 2 more minutes .Garnish with heavy cream,grated butter and chopped coriander.Serve hot with roti/naan.

i have a few questions.

how much tomato puree 3 or 4 what?

for the whole pepper part is it whole peppercorn?

and for the kashmiri chilie powder, since you said paprika is that the same thing? can i get a better taste if i use the kashmiri powder?

tomato puree - 3 or 4 tomatoes pureed, or one can of tomato puree or tomato paste

yes whole peppercorn, you can also put 1tsp of black pepper

kashmiri chilli powder is hard to come find even in Indian stores. Which is why paprika is a good substitute. You really dont need the spice, more so for color.

Also 1 Kg of chicken is about 2.5 pounds of chicken.

thanks again! i get the whole kg thing i am in australia, so i use the metric system. actually, the metric system is easier in my opinion.

I really want to make that...but then I think about all the Indian Restaurants near my house, The Shiva, The Mahbub, The Princess of Hearts, Asian Fusion, Azad Manzil....

I think we will have a take out!!!

yes. I usually have butter chicken that has cream in it, but this was really good!
