indoor tanning
I'm giving indoor tanning a 2nd try becuase my Seasonal Affective Disorder hit an all time low this winter and in doing research, I found out that just going for a few minutes a week can help.
I'm not looking to be browned and roasted by any means but the shot of color I get from it doesnt seem that bad.
I know that most people will say that its bad for you skin but if I only go soradically, is it really that bad? Does helping my depression outweigh the skin factors?
Does anyone have any advice/opinions for me? Im torn on if I should continue or not. I havent met anyone who actually is pro-tanning.

Re: indoor tanning
Please correct me if I am wrong but don't they make special lights for this?
The tanning beds have the UV damage and do not protect from skin cancer.

Yes.
Everytime you expose yourself to that radiation, there is potential for mutation... which leads to cancer. It's worse than smoking- it's so horrible for you.
At the risk of sounding completely dramatical- i think having cancer would be far more depressing. Like when people say that they smoke because of stress- it's defeating the purpose, b/c down the line, chemo treatments are going to cause alot more stress than what they're up against now.
There are so many other (healthier) ways to combat SAMD. Exercise! Go for a walk ouside, go out for lunch with a girlfriend, treat yourself to a day of beauty (sans the fake sun).

Re: indoor tanning
Go to a gardening store and buy a full spectrum light and sit in front of that.
It has tons of research proving it works and you dont risk skin cancer like you do with tanning booths.

Re: indoor tanning
tanning every now and then wont kill you, I tan a few times a month in the winter and it makes me feel better, if that still worries you what about spray tan (mystic)
